February 15, 2015) A notary exam prep scenario course will be offered by the Louisiana State University Shreveport Continuing Education Department from 10 a.m.-noon Saturdays, March 21-May 23 in Room 327 in Farrar Hall on the McNeese State University campus. Classes will not be offered April 4 and April 25.             Cost is $219 and $199 for early registration by March 15. The 2015 textbook, “Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice,” is an additional $90 and can be obtained at www.sos.la.gov.             For more information contact McNeese Electronic Learning at 337-475-5075.

(February 25, 2015)  A property and casualty insurance pre-licensing course will be offered from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. March 13-14 and 20-21 in Room 118 of the Burton Business Center on the McNeese State University campus.           Cost is $279 per person, which includes textbooks. This course provides 40 hours of class time suitable to prepare an individual to sit for the licensing exam. Topics include basic terminology, concepts, sales, the fundamentals of insurance law and an agent’s responsibility.             March 6 is the deadline for registration. (February 20, 2015) The McNeese State University Meal Club will offer eight meals on Thursdays this spring prepared by students in the nutrition and food science program within the Harold and Pearl Dripps Department of Agricultural Sciences. These meals – “Flavors of the World”- will be served from 5-7 p.m. in the Gayle Annex Food Services Lab behind Gayle Hall. Students from the Department of Performing Arts will provide entertainment and gourmet oil and vinegar tastings will be offered during the final two meals. The dates and menus include: Feb.

A free seminar titled “Starting and Financing a Small Business” will be offered from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 26 in Room B on the second floor of the McNeese State University Seed Center.

The SAGE lecture series at McNeese State University will present storyteller Brian “Fox” Ellis from 3-4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, in the Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.

McNeese State University financial aid staff members will visit area high schools in February and March to explain financial aid application procedures to students.

McNeese State University’s Financial Aid Office is co-sponsoring a Financial Aid Awareness Day from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Old Ranch.
