A beef symposium will be held 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, in the Cowboy Club Room at McNeese State University’s Cowboy Stadium.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author and McNeese State University alumnus Adam Johnson will give a free reading of his fiction at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 8.

The McNeese Performing Arts Department will host an evening of musical theater titled “The Beauty Is…,” which will feature soprano Hailey Ford Coburn, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 8.

Historian David Wrobel will present a lecture on “John Steinbeck’s America: A Cultural History of the Great Depression” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 at McNeese State University.

John H. Lawrence, director of museum programs at the Historic New Orleans Collection, will make a presentation on Creole houses at 3 p.m. Monday, April 4.

A life and health insurance pre-licensing course will be offered April 8-9 and April 15-16 on the McNeese State University campus by Bossier Parish Community College.

The McNeese Performing Arts Department will host a free recital featuring Dr. Jeffrey George on guitar at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in Tritico Theatre as part of the spring Faculty/Guest Recital Series hosted by the department.

McNeese State University’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society has recently inducted 24 students into the society.

A free workshop titled “Government Contracting Overview” will be offered from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, on the second floor of the McNeese State University SEED Center.

The McNeese State University Theatre Bayou Players will begin the spring 2016 season with a unique theater piece titled “BECKETT X FIVE” at 7:30 p.m. March 19 and at 2 p.m. March 20 in Tritico Theatre.
