(April 13, 2017) Six orientation sessions are offered this summer for incoming freshmen for the 2017 summer session or fall semester at McNeese State University. All first-time freshmen are required to attend a one-day orientation, which includes orientation, academic advising and class registration for their first semester at McNeese. Orientations will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. May 17, May 25, June 7, June 23, June 29 and July 12 in Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex. Students must register in advance for the orientation date they plan to attend by going online to www.mcneese.edu/gbst.

A free screening of the 2002 documentary “Mystic Iran: The Unseen World” will play at the Holbrook Student Union at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 13, as a part of this season’s Banners at McNeese State University film series.

The McNeese State University Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior trumpet recital by Jaren Braud of Orange, Texas, at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.

McNeese State University’s SAGE spring series concludes Monday, April 10, with a lecture by Dr. Janet Allured titled “On Their Own: Three Remarkable Louisiana Women Who Made a Difference” at 3 p.m. in the McNeese SEED Center.

McNeese State University Theatre will conclude its 2016-2017 season with its first musical production in three years - Cole Porter’s musical “Kiss Me Kate.”
