Presentation of honorary degree
McNeese State University conferred an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree to Willie Landry Mount during the 146th commencement ceremony Saturday, May 14.

Seven orientation sessions are offered this summer for incoming freshmen for the 2016 fall semester at McNeese State University.

McNeese State University will hold its spring commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Burton Coliseum, with 785 candidates.

McNeese State University’s Class of 1966 will be honored during the annual celebration of the McNeese Alumni Association’s Golden Scholars Society on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14.

Registration for McNeese State University’s summer session is currently underway through June 6, while registration for the fall semester is underway through Aug. 15.

Troutman receives award
Twenty-one business students have been inducted into the McNeese State University chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma Scholastic Business Honor Society.

A property and casualty insurance pre-licensing course will be offered from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. May 13-14 and May 20-21 on the McNeese State University campus by Bossier Parish Community College.

The McNeese Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior vocal recital by tenor Curry Burton, of Lake Charles, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, in Tritico Theatre.

The McNeese Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior vocal recital by soprano Courtney McKinney, of Bridge City, Texas, at 7 p.m. Monday, May 2.

The McNeese Department of Performing Arts will present the McNeese Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony in a free spring concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1.
