The 2014 Governor’s Program for Gifted Children at McNeese State University will present two theatre productions, an art show and a concert as a finale to its summer program Wednesday-Saturday, July 23-26.

The McNeese Department of Visual Arts will host a public reception for the McNeese Drawing: A Survey Exhibition at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17, in the Abercrombie Gallery of the Shearman Fine Arts Center.

McNeese State University has received a $102,590 grant from the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce to help lead innovation and economic development in Southwest Louisiana.

Aug. 4 is the deadline to apply for admission to McNeese for regular fall registration. Classes begin Aug. 25.

McNeese State University is sponsoring a poster design contest for the 2015 Banners Cultural Season. The winning designer will receive a $500 cash prize. The contest is open to all artists.

The Contractor’s Educational Trust Fund has donated $120,000 through the McNeese State University Foundation to establish two endowed professorships in the College of Engineering.

Several McNeese State University rodeo team members are currently among the leaders at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., that runs through Saturday, June 21.

New this summer is the Kids College All-day Program for students entering grades 1-6. The program is offered from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with early drop off and late pick up available.
