The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at McNeese State University will present seminars throughout the month of September to assist small-business owners with tax laws, labor laws, Social Security, and start-up financing.

The following seminars will be presented:

• “Starting and Financing a Small Business,” 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Business Conference Center on the McNeese campus. Cost is $10 per person.

• “Labor Laws,” 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Department of Labor, 4250 5th Avenue. Free.

• “IRS for Tax Preparers and CPAs,” 8:30 a.m.-noon Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Business Conference Center on the McNeese campus. Cost is $10 per person.

• “Social Security for Payroll Workers,” 9-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Business Conference Center on the McNeese campus. Cost is $5 per person.

• “IRS Business Basics for Business Owners,” 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Business Conference Center on the McNeese campus. Cost is $15 per person and includes lunch.
