The McNeese State University department of performing arts will present flutist Judy Hand, associate professor of music, in a free faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, in Ralph Squires Hall at the Shearman Fine Arts Center.
Karen Ganz, assistant professor of music, will provide piano accompaniment. The program will include “Scherzo-Divertimento,” Bohuslav Martinu; “Nocturne and Allegro Scherzando,” Philippe Gaubert; “Polonaise from Capriccio No. 3 for Solo Flute,” Friedrich Kuhlau; and “La fille aux cheveaux de lin,” by Claude Debussy.
The program will also include “Sonata No. 5 in C Major, K.V. 14,” by W.A. Mozart, which he wrote at age 8, and “Sonata for Flute and Piano,” which was composed for Hand by the late Keith Gates.
