Fourteen high school agriculture teachers are on McNeese's campus learning about plant science through a national CASE Institute hosted by the Harold and Pearl Dripps Agricultural Sciences Department.

Mrs. Ada Vincent has donated $25,000 to the McNeese State University Foundation for the operation of the new McNeese radio station KBYS that will be launched in 2014.

Dr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Watson have given $9,000 to the McNeese Foundation to establish the Carol and Tom Watson Rodeo Scholarship at McNeese State University.

Once a week, McNeese College of Education students enrolled in the EDUC 316 Reading Methods course dedicate their teaching efforts to raising the reading level of each Brentwood Elementary School second grader.
College of Education students enrolled in Dr. Yvette Garner's EDUC 316 Reading Methods course share their joy of reading and love of teaching by tutoring Brentwood Elementary second graders each week. 

Twenty-two McNeese State University students received the Summa Cum Laude (3.90-4.00) designation in spring commencement ceremonies. Five students were recognized for earning a 4.0 grade point average throughout their college careers.
