Twenty-six students have been selected for the 2008-2009 McNeese State University Cowgirl Kickers squad. McNeese Cowgirl Kickers participate at football games with the "Pride of McNeese Marching Band" and at basketball games, as well as other civic appearances in the area.

Students must meet certain criteria and scholarships are available for those students selected for the squad, according to Paige Harkins Caldwell, director.

This year's squad includes: Samantha Prejean, captain, Sulphur; Leigh Ann Anderson, Moss Bluff, Marcie Dougay, Lake Charles, and Lauren Morris, Sulphur, co-captains; Shelbi Anderson, Moss Bluff; Amy Bourne, Jennings; Rebeka Broussard, Moss Bluff; Kristina Bruchhaus, Kinder; Jennifer Callahan, Sulphur; Niki Capdeposca, Westlake; Keli Jo Conner, Sulphur; Melanie Duhon, Sulphur; Morgan Fontenot, Lafayette; Brandy Guidry, Grand Lake; Sarah Hermann, Westlake; Kristy Hesselgrave, Lake Charles; Alona Hollis, Lafayette; Amber Istre, Sulphur; Whitney Knighton, Moss Bluff; Jillian Lopez, Basile; Amanda Perkins, Lake Charles; Amanda Prejean, Sulphur; Scottie Schiro, Westlake; Victoria Thibodeaux, Lake Arthur; Angie Thomas, Lake Charles; and Rebecca Young, Westlake.
