The McNeese Cowboys will play the Statesmen of Delta State University at
7 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 6, at Cowboy Stadium. This is the first home
game of the season and fans are reminded to arrive early for the kick-off.
Law enforcement officials will conduct screening at the gates. No weapons,
no drinks or food of any type and no umbrellas may be brought into the
stadium.
Parking lots around Cowboy Stadium will be secured at 9 a.m. on game days.
Cars parked in the lots without an official parking pass will be towed at
the owner's expense, according to McNeese Director of University Police
Cinnamon Salvador.
"Specific routes will be used to enter the parking lots and uniformed
officers will be at the entrances to check for the parking passes," Salvador
said. Route maps to the lots are printed on the back of the parking passes.
McNeese Ticket Office Manager Peter Colon said the ticket office will be
open through halftime for fans to pick up game tickets. Tickets can also be
ordered and picked up on game day by calling 562-4MSU. Season parking passes
for season ticket holders are still available for $60 at the ticket office.
McNeese students who have valid IDs must enter the stadium at Gate 7 on the
east side of the stadium.
Les DeVall Boulevard, the entrance to the field house, will be used to drop
off fans near the northwest gate. Free parking will be available on the main
campus. This year, Lot E has been split in half - the west half is available
for student tailgating while the east half is for general parking and
day-of-event tailgating only. The entrance to Lot E is off Louisiana Avenue.
Parking hangtags must remain visible in the vehicle for the duration of the
football game. Vehicles parked in the stadium lots without a parking hangtag
designated for that game will also be towed at the owner's expense.
Fans also need to be aware that specific routes will be used to exit the
stadium area.
