The deadline for entries for the 2009 McNeese State University Homecoming Parade scheduled Oct. 15 has been extended to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8. Entry fee is $50 for community organizations or business floats and this year's theme is "70 Years of Saddlin’ Up."

The parade is set to roll down Ryan Street at 7 p.m., with line-up beginning at 4 p.m. in the freshman parking lot near Cowboy Stadium. McNeese student organizations and community participants compete for prizes for best floats.

The parade will start at the intersection of Ryan and East LaGrange streets, turn south on Ryan and travel to McNeese Street, and turn east on McNeese and travel to the Doland Athletic Complex, where it will disband for the homecoming pep rally and fireworks display, which is sponsored by the McNeese Alumni Association.
