 Rudy Pozzatti Print - “Shell”
Engraving 2009, an international print invitational showcasing 34 artists from around the world who practice the art of engraving, is currently on display through Sept. 25 at the Art Associates Gallery located in Central School at 809 Kirby St.
This exhibit was produced by Gerry Wubben, professor of art at McNeese State University, and James Ehlers, assistant professor of art at Emporia State University in Kansas. Engraving is one of the oldest, most difficult and elegant printmaking techniques and has changed little since the Middle Ages, according to Wubben.
As part of the annual Gallery Promenade Friday, Sept. 25, a closing reception for the exhibit will be held from 6–9 p.m., with Wubben giving a gallery talk at 7 p.m. The event is open free to the public.
