McNeese State University has several activities scheduled from
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Quad to celebrate national Earth
Day. This year's theme is "Unifying the Campus - Saving the Planet!"
A local band, Colorcast Veteran, will take the stage at 11 a.m.
followed by the McNeese Higher Level Gospel Choir.
Exhibits will offer information about recycling, a campus
adopt-a-flowerbed program and how to live a convenient but "green" life,
while there will be a bike-powered television, hybrid car display, a
Hug-a-Tree booth, a Recycle Your Log craft sale and yearbook distribution.
Several community organizations will also take place in the celebration,
including Team Green, LSU AgCenter, the Rape Crisis Outreach and Prevent
Child Abuse Louisiana.
There will also be free food, T-shirts and giveaways for all
McNeese students with a valid ID.
This event is sponsored by the following campus organizations:
Student Government Association, Student Union Board, Voices for Planned
Parenthood, McNeese-Cowboys in Acton (M-CIA), Blue and Gold Goes Green, The
Log, The Contraband, McNeese Higher Level Gospel Choir, Chi Alpha, McNeese

Delta Sigma Pi, Society for Women Engineers, American Institute for Women
Engineers, Campus Outreach, International Business Club, Sigma Alpha Iota,
