  Earth Day at McNeese

McNeese State University has several activities scheduled from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Quad to celebrate national Earth Day. This year's theme is "Unifying the Campus - Saving the Planet!"

A local band, Colorcast Veteran, will take the stage at 11 a.m. followed by the McNeese Higher Level Gospel Choir.

Exhibits will offer information about recycling, a campus adopt-a-flowerbed program and how to live a convenient but "green" life, while there will be a bike-powered television, hybrid car display, a Hug-a-Tree booth, a Recycle Your Log craft sale and yearbook distribution. Several community organizations will also take place in the celebration, including Team Green, LSU AgCenter, the Rape Crisis Outreach and Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana.

There will also be free food, T-shirts and giveaways for all McNeese students with a valid ID.

This event is sponsored by the following campus organizations: Student Government Association, Student Union Board, Voices for Planned Parenthood, McNeese-Cowboys in Acton (M-CIA), Blue and Gold Goes Green, The Log, The Contraband, McNeese Higher Level Gospel Choir, Chi Alpha, McNeese Academic Forum, Iota Phi Theta, MSU Biology and Environmental Science Club, Delta Sigma Pi, Society for Women Engineers, American Institute for Women Engineers, Campus Outreach, International Business Club, Sigma Alpha Iota, Theta Chi and Students for Life.
