Students attending McNeese State University this fall have an
opportunity to take a crash course on what it means to become a McNeese
Cowboy this summer at the inaugural Cowboy Camp from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
July 11.
First-time freshmen and transfer students can learn about
McNeese history and traditions before they set foot in a classroom or attend
their first Cowboy football game in "the hole," and have lots of fun doing
it, according to Dr. Chris Thomas, assistant dean of student services at
McNeese.
"We want to infuse these students with a sense of Cowboy Pride from the
moment they arrive on campus," Thomas said. "The day will include tours,
pictures, chants, trivia, ceremonies and scavenger hunts, all led by MSU
student leaders from student organizations."
The camp is limited to the first 100 students and cost is $10
per student, which includes breakfast, lunch, a T-shirt and the chance to
win over $1,000 in cash and prizes.
