The 2009 Joint Annual Chemistry Symposium will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, in Parra Ballroom of the Student Union Annex at McNeese State University.

The symposium, hosted by the McNeese Chemistry Department, will feature chemistry presentations from researchers at McNeese, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

The symposium events, which are open to the public, include 13 oral presentations and 17 posters highlighting faculty and student research on the three campuses. Poster viewings are from 11:15-11:30 a.m., 1:30-2 p.m. and 3:15-3:30 p.m.

The symposium, established by the McNeese Chemistry Department in 2003, is supported in large part by the Southwest Louisiana section of the American Chemical Society. Event organizers are McNeese chemistry faculty members Dr. Joseph Sneddon and Paula McDonald.
