(August 18, 2015) Thousands of McNeese State University students are heading back to campus for the fall semester that begins Aug. 24. Several activities are scheduled during Howdy Rowdy Welcome Week - set for Aug. 24-28 - to welcome back both new and returning students. Representatives from student organizations, the Greeks, university offices, academic departments, local businesses and community service agencies, and campus ministries will have representatives on campus during this week to introduce the students to what the campus and community have to offer, according to Kedrick Nicholas, director of Campus Life & Engagement at McNeese. The McNeese Alumni Association will host a tailgate party for Cowboy fans prior to the kickoff of the McNeese vs. LSU Tigers football game Saturday, Sept. 5.
Students registering late for the fall 2015 semester at McNeese State University can register online or with their faculty adviser Aug. 21-25.
The Harold Pearson Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established at McNeese State University with a donation of $15,247.39 from the estate of Harold L. Pearson.
Al Cochran, a 1965 engineering graduate of McNeese State University, has donated $20,000 to the university to establish the Alfred Cochran Civil Engineering Scholarship.
McNeese's College of Engineering ranks third among all public and private institutions in the nation with the greatest lifetime return on investment for its engineering majors.
