Entergy has donated $12,500 for the spring 2017 Banners Cultural Season and 2016 Banners Engages

Bridget McDaniel, assistant professor of art at McNeese State University, will give a lecture titled, “Degas: A New Vision!” at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, in the McNeese SEED Center as part of the McNeese Fall 2016 SAGE Series.

The McNeese Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior vocal recital by soprano April Stone, of Sulphur, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.

The McNeese State University women’s rodeo team took fourth place and the men’s team took fifth place in the recent rodeo competition at Panola College in Carthage, Texas.

Molly Jones
The McNeese State University Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior vocal recital by soprano Molly Jones, of Lake Charles, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in Tritico Theatre in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.

The Office of Financial Aid staff members will present several free financial aid workshops in high schools throughout a seven-parish area - as well as six regional workshops – in October and November for local high school students and their parents as well as current McNeese students.

Twenty-five students have been selected for the McNeese State University Honors College for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Al Cochran, a 1965 engineering graduate and a 2016 general studies graduate of McNeese State University, has donated $20,000 to the university through the McNeese Foundation for the Alfred Cochran Civil Engineering Scholarship.

The McNeese State University Department of Performing Arts will present the McNeese Chamber Singers in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, in Tritico Theatre of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.

The 2016 McNeese State University Homecoming Parade is scheduled to roll down Ryan Street at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, and the community is invited to participate.
