(February 5, 2016) The 24th season of Banners at McNeese State University begins this month and this year’s entertainment includes everything from flying circus performers and breathtaking dance shows to film screenings and crowd-pleasing musical ensembles. AT&T, as part of the AT&T Aspire initiative, has announced a $15,000 contribution to the McNeese State University Foundation to provide 10 engineering scholarships

McNeese financial aid staff members will visit area high schools Feb. 15-March 10 to explain financial aid application procedures to students. February is National Financial Aid Awareness Month.

Poet John Wood
Dr. John Wood, nationally known poet and photographic critic whose books in both fields have won major awards, will give a free poetry reading at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in the Stream Alumni Center

Lisa Graley, a 1995 McNeese MFA graduate, is the co-winner of the 2015 Flannery O’Connor Award in Short Fiction sponsored by the University of Georgia Press.

A free McNeese faculty brass recital will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, in Tritico Theatre, sponsored by the McNeese Performing Arts Department.
