Mrs. Paige Harkins-Caldwell
 Cowgirl Kickers Director

Mrs. Caldwell graduated from McNeese with a BS in Health and Human Performance. She is currently employed by McNeese as a certified physical education, health, and dance teacher. She and her husband, Kevin Caldwell, have two sons.

As an undergraduate, Mrs. Caldwell served as captain of the Cowgirl Kickers. While captain, her squad accepted an invitation to perform for the French government in Nice, France, during their annual Carnival celebration. She has been the director of the squad for four years.

In this time, the Cowgirl Kickers were honored to be one of the first civilian groups since 9-11 asked to entertain our troops at Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii. Under her direction, the ladies also performed at Disneyworld in 2003. Mrs. Caldwell performed for several years as a professional cheerleader for the NFL’s Houston Oilers, where she also served as a captain for the squad. Mrs. Caldwell also taught physical education for eight years in Houston, Texas where she directed several cheer and performance teams.
Mrs. Smith is a graduate of McNeese with a BS in Fashion Merchandising / Home Economics. She also holds a Basic Spanish Linguistic Certification from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. She and her husband, Major Jeffrey D. Smith, have three children.

As a former Cowgirl Kicker, she was a Top Ten Performer and Officer. Mary Ann performed locally for eight years on jazz dance lines during high school and college. Mrs. Smith served as a Camp Director/Lead Choreographer for a national dance camp company called DANZ America and produced, directed and choreographed several high school dance camps in North Carolina. She has over 22 years experience instructing ballet, tap, and jazz during which she has earned many accolades in dance performance, instruction, choreography, and recital productions including multiple gold, silver and bronze awards at the National Showstoppers Dance Competitions. Mrs. Smith has formal training in the following syllabuses: Royal Academy of Dance, Ballet and Pointe; Cecetti Method of Ballet, and Russian Methodology. Most recently, she studied in a Masters program on Cuban Methodology of Ballet in Mexico City, Mexico where she also taught jazz and ballet, performed pointe and was a tap soloist. She has also studied Tremain Jazz, Al Gilbert Tap, Salsa, Flamenco, and Hindu dance styles. Invitations include the National Cuban Ballet School, and professionally for Tap Dance Troop, California.
