Counseling Staff

Katie Blum  Katie Blum, M.A., CI- Clinical Manager


Katie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and her Master of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Counseling from McNeese State University.


Katie is currently working towards her license as a professional counselor in Louisiana. She is approved by the Louisiana Board of Examiners as a Counselor Intern. She is under the clinical supervision of Amanda Creel, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT.


Katie is also a founding member and chair committee member of the psychological conference held at McNeese State University- the Lake Area Mental & Behavioral Health Conference. 

Katie provides counseling services to children, teenagers, and adults. She has worked most often with: depression, anxiety, self-harm, and Asperger's Syndrome and has presented on topics including: Parenting, Communication, Non-suicidal Self Injury, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.


Jimmy Trahan, B.A., M.A.- Program Coordinator


Jimmy received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and his Master of Arts in English from McNeese State University.


Jimmy is currently completing his Masters Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Counseling from McNeese State University. He is under the clinical supervision of Amanda Creel, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT and Allison Bennet, Ph.D.


Julie Christman, B.A- Student Counselor


Julie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of New Orleans, She also holds a Teaching Certification in Science.

Julie is currently completing her Masters Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Counseling from McNeese State University. She is under the clinical supervision of Amanda Creel, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT and Allison Bennet, Ph.D.


Francis Bellow Francis Bellow, III, B.S., M.B.A, M.A.- Counselor Intern


Francis received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and his Master of Buisness and Master of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Counseling from McNeese State University.


Francis is currently working towards his license as a Counselor in the state of Louisiana. As a KDCC staff member, Francis works under the direct supervision of Dr. Amanda Creel, LPC-S, LMFT. 

Francis also holds a position as commitee member to the Lake Area Mental & Behavioral Health Conference held at McNeese State University. 

Francis provides counseling services to children, teenagers, and adults. He has worked most often with: Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression.
