McNeese Frazar Library Hosts Exhibit

Historical photo of 'Operation Book Moving'

The McNeese College ROTC Cadet Corps moved 32,000 books from the old Kaufman Hall Library to the new Frazar Memorial Library back in May 1961. The task was completed in one afternoon. This photo captures "Operation Book Moving" and is included in an exhibit highlighting the 50th anniversary of McNeese State University's Frazar Memorial Library on display through Dec 11. An exhibit highlighting the 50th anniversary of McNeese State University's Frazar Memorial Library - its history and development
from 1961 to present day - is currently on display during regular library hours through Dec. 11.

The display, "Frazar Memorial Library History Exhibit 1961-2011," includes an impressive collection of photographs and ephemera (other paper items) from the McNeese Archives documenting students, architecture and library faculty over the last 50 years.

This exhibit is one of the many fall events scheduled to commemorate the library's 50th anniversary in November and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
