While anyone can sum a column of numbers and calculate benchmarks, have you ever been in a situation where you were apprehensive that a client or supervisor might ask what those calculations mean? Accounting and banking terminology is written in a way that some things may not be what they seem. Within some institutions different terminology may be used to address the same issue, and some institutions might utilize consistent terminology but with different definitions than other institutions. In this session, accounting, and tax foundations will be presented. These foundations are the principles on which business and banking financial information is built. Cases and exercises will be used to illustrate the topics.
