Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Support

McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Director of Institutional Effectiveness in the Department of Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Support.  This is a full-time, 12 –month, unclassified position.  The appointment is available February 1, 2008.

Position Description and Responsibilities:  The Director of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for functions related to planning, assessment, and accreditation.  The Director of Institutional Effectiveness will work closely with all campus units and report to the Provost.

Qualifications:  Required

  • Minimum of Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated evidence of administrative skills which include developing comprehensive goals, implementing detailed procedures for planning processes, understanding of evaluation and assessment related to academic programs and services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence indicating understanding of institutional concepts and incorporating attention to details.
  • Experience in budgeting and planning concepts; including ability to lead planning and assessment activities and compile institutional planning/assessment documents.
  • Ability to generate electronic documents and communications.
  • Positive attitude with proven ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Experience with higher education assessment practices and procedures (preferred experience with SACS/COC)
  • (Preferred) Experience teaching at the collegiate level or working directly with higher education accreditation assessment and planning

General Information:  McNeese State University, located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a public university and a member of the University of Louisiana System. Salary: $62,000 to $66,000 depending on qualifications and experience (Maximum is non-negotiable).
