Assistant Professor and Instructor Physics (2 Positions)
Department of Physics

McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the positions of Assistant Professor and Instructorin the Department of Physics. These are full-time, 9–month, unclassified positions. The Assistant Professor position is a tenure-track position.  The Instructor position is a non-tenure track position.  The Assistant Professor appointment and the Instructor appointment begin in August 2008.

Position Description and Responsibilities: The successful candidates will have a commitment to excellence in education with a strong dedication to teaching. Teaching assignments may include physics courses ranging from the introductory level through the graduate level. The candidates will also be committed to the development of a strong scholarly program. This includes university service and involving undergraduate students in research. Applicants should show an ability to attract external funding. In addition, the candidates should have an ability to work with students, colleagues, and community members from diverse cultures. Qualifications:   Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field
   
    Instructor: Master’s Degree in Physics

Salary:   Assistant Professor: $47,000

                Instructor: $39,000.
