McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Assistant Professorin the Department of Mass Communication. This is a 9–month,unclassified, tenure track position. The appointment is available in August 2008.
Position Description and Responsibilities: The Assistant Professor is responsible for functions related to television production, digital editing, and other courses in the Mass Communication major. The Assistant Professor will work closely with students and colleagues in the Mass Communication sequences of Public Relations, Journalism and Radio/Television.
Qualifications: Required: PhD in mass communication or other appropriate discipline and experience in broadcasting and new media. Other desirable qualifications are enthusiasm for teaching at a regional state university, experience working with multi-cultural groups, and experience using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Audition, Photoshop, Encore and EZNews or related software.Preferred: The ability to teach classes in journalism and/or public relations is also desirable, though not required
General Information: McNeese State University, located in Lake Charles, La., is a public university and a member of the University of Louisiana System. Salary: $48,000 to $50,000
