McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Professions.  This is a full-time, 9–month, unclassified, tenure-track position.  The appointment begins in August 2013. 

Position Description and Responsibilities:  The Assistant Professor of Education Professions is responsible for functions related to teaching secondary methods courses and foundations courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels; advising both graduate and undergraduate students; supervising student teachers; and assuming committee responsibilities. The Assistant Professor of Education Professions will work closely with faculty in the Department of Education Professions and Coordinators of Secondary Education Programs in the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Science. 

Qualifications:  RequiredEarned doctorate in Education by the time of appointment; at least three years of teaching experience desired at the secondary level; ability to teach secondary methods courses; university experience preferred; evidence of technology required; evidence of scholarly activity; evidence of collaboration with local school systems; community agencies, and other professionals. 

Salary:  $55,000 for a nine-month appointment, pending funding. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.
