McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics.  This is a full-time, unclassified, 9-month, tenure-track position.  The appointment begins in August 2013.  

The McNeese State University College of Business programs are accredited by AACSB International.  The Lake Charles metropolitan area population of approximately 200,000 people is a vibrant, exciting area with significant leisure time activity available. 

Position Description and Responsibilities:  The Assistant Professor is responsible for excellent teaching and a commitment to intellectual contributions and providing service to the profession and the university.  The Assistant Professor will work closely with baccalaureate and graduate level students and faculty in the College of Business.   

Qualifications:  First preference will be given to candidates possessing a PhD/DBA in Accounting; followed by a preference to those candidates who have defended a dissertation proposal.  Third preference is available to candidates who possess a Master of Taxation and are academically qualified as per AACSB standards.  Candidates’ degrees must have been conferred by an AACSB International accredited institution.  This tenure-track position is open to applicants in all areas of accounting.  The successful candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to intellectual contributions and a desire to provide service to the university and the profession.
