Nurse Educator Assistant Professor

McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the three (3) positions of Nurse Educator Assistant Professor for Undergraduate Nursing Degree Program in the College of Nursing. Positions available are one (1) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Educator and two (2) Medical Surgical Nurse Educators. These are full time, 9-month, unclassified, tenure-track positions. The appointments begin in Fall 2018.
Position Description and Responsibilities:
The Nurse Educator Assistant Professor, a faculty member in the Undergraduate Nursing Degree Program, has responsibilities that include but are not limited to: administration, teaching, university/community service, and research/scholarly work. Specific duties include: implements University and College policies and procedures; implements the program curricula; participates in curriculum and course planning, implementation, and evaluation; student advisement; mentoring; assists in evaluating clinical settings and experiences related to course and student learning needs; planning clinical experiences for students and evaluating the clinical competence of students; serves on University and College of Nursing committees; participates in the community by offering volunteer services and/or offering consultation and/or in-service education to clinical agencies or community agencies/organizations; and initiates and/or participates in nursing research activities.
POSITION: PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE EDUCATOR
Required: A Master’s Degree in Nursing or a M.S. or M.N. Degree with a major in nursing. Academic preparation includes degree specialization, specialty coursework, or other preparation sufficient to address the qualifications. At least two years of clinical practice required in the nursing field of expertise. Current, unencumbered licensure in the state of Louisiana.
Preferred: A Doctorate Degree in nursing or related field. Teaching experience in a higher education institution and national certification as a nurse educator (CNE) is preferred.
POSITION: MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSE EDUCATOR
Required: A Doctorate Degree in nursing or related field. Teaching experience in a higher education institution and national certification as a nurse educator (CNE) is preferred. At least two years of clinical practice required in the nursing field of expertise. Current, unencumbered licensure in the state of Louisiana.
Salary commensurate with experience.
