SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
This position is in University Police and is non-exempt under the provisions of the FLSA. This position may work rotating shifts and is subject to overtime, work on weekends and holidays and 24 hour call. This position primarily dispatches.
The successful candidate must possess a valid Louisiana drivers license and will be required to receive 1st Responder certification. An extensive background investigation will be performed on the final candidate to include pre-employment psychological examination and polygraph, DNA testing, Fingerprinting, Drug Testing, Criminal and Misdemeanor records search, and Drivers License Records search.
Preference may be given as follows:
Candidates who are 21 years of age or older;
Candidates who have a certificate of high school completion or the equivalent;
Candidates who have continuing education beyond high school.
Preference may be given to those applicants who have demonstrated customer service experience, excellent inter-personal communication skills, and the ability to de-escalate stressful situations through previous work experience or training. Preference may also be given to those applicants who have demonstrated ability to multi-task under pressure, manage a multi line phone system, handle emergencies in a calm manner, and a professional command attitude and appearance through previous work experience or training.
