MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, statistical, or other numerical computation duties.

SUBSTITUTIONS:
Completion of single proprietorship, partnership, and corporation accounting and practice sets in a recognized business school or technical institute may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

College training may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours, to include three semester hours of accounting, for one year of experience.

An Associate Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university will substitute for all of the required experience.

An Associate Degree in Accounting Technology from a Louisiana Technical College may be substituted for all of the required experience. This program has been accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.

Completion of Computerized Accounting Training at Southeast Louisiana Area Health Education Center (formerly offered at Southeastern Louisiana University) through Job Training Partnership Act which includes single proprietorship, partnership, and corporation accounting practice sets will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Completion of Computerized Accounting Training at a technical institute through Job Training Partnership Act which includes single proprietorship and partnership accounting practice sets will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Completion of an Accounting Technician program of at least twelve months duration approved by the Department of Civil Service from a business school or technical institute may be substituted for one year of the required experience. All training must have been resident study.

NOTE:
It will not be necessary to provide an official job description (SF-3), or to provide percentages of time performing the qualifying duties in order to be credited with the experience.

NOTE:
Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

This position is in Administrative Accounting/Cashier's Office.  This position is non-exempt under FLSA. 

The successful candiate must have excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and customer service skills.  Excellent attendance and computer skills are a top priority.
