McNeese State University's Athletic Training Program will be voluntarily withdrawing CAATE accreditation in June of 2017. Do to this future change in accreditation status the McNeese State University program will not be accepting students as of April 2015. If you are interested in a career as an Athletic Trainer please contact Kevin Hargrave at or Chad Chaisson at for information about the McNeese State University's Health and Human Performance Sports Medicine Concentration and/or information about how to become a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.


The Athletic Training Program seeks to prepare students through knowledge, values, critical thinking and psychomotor skills to assume a professional role in the Athletic Training Profession that will optimize the quality of healthcare of the physically active.
