The McNeese State University Department of Health and Human Performance is dedicated to excellence in human body function and performance. HHP is housed in the Burton College of Education, Wayne Fetter, Dean.
Established in the early years of the University, the HHP Department has grown from Health and Physical Education to include a variety of subject matter that pertains to health, wellness, rehabilitation, and performance. Our department houses programs that allow students to become quality educators and / or allied health professionals.
Our programs of curriculum include Health and Physical Education,Sport and Wellness Management, Sports Medicine, and Exercise Science (physical therapy precursor). The McNeese State University Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
Dr. Michael Soileau, department head, is available to all incoming freshmen and transfer students for consultation and direction into whatever program that best fits your desire and aptitude.
