What is academic advising?

We know that the transition from high school to college can be both an exciting and frightening time. Your academic advisor is there as a resource to help you navigate through those first steps of you college career. We can answer questions about the degree programs offered at McNeese, guide you through policies and procedures and refer you to the appropriate support services as needed.

We are here to serve you, our students. Although our main focus is to help you academically, we will entertain any questions you may have. If you have a question, please ask us; if we don’t know the answer we will guide you to the person or office who can best assist you.

Who is my advisor?

You were assigned an advisor when you received your acceptance letter. Advisors are assigned based on your declared major. If you are unsure of who your advisor, please click here. Your advisor keeps regular office hours from 7:45am to 4:30pm during the week.
