Who Gets A Refund?
Students may receive refunds related to financial aid, scholarships, account over payments or other financial transactions with the University.
How Are Refunds Delivered To Students?
Students can select one of three options to receive their refund.
- Easy RefundSM deposit to the BankMobile Vibe Account, a no monthly fee checking account (refunds available the day McNeese releases them to BankMobile). If you select this option for your refund you can use your BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard® at the ATM operated by BankMobile in the Old Ranch near the Cafeteria.
- Direct deposit to your bank account (ACH process) and refunds available in 2-3 business days after McNeese releases them to BankMobile.
- Receive a paper check (refunds available in 5-7 business days after McNeese released them to BankMobile) sent to your mailing address.
How Do I Select My Refund Option?
Go to RefundSelection.com and activate your BankMobile Vibe Account. Then, select your refund preference.
What Is The BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®?
It is a Debit MasterCard® issued to you by BankMobile. It is NOT a credit card, but it can be used like a debit card.
How Do I Get A BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®?
BankMobile sent a green envelope containing the BankMobile VIbe Debit Mastercard® and instructions to your official (home) address before the semester started.
What Do I Do When I Receive My BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®?
Go to RefundSelection.com and select your refund preference. Follow the steps to activate your BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard® and select to have your refund put on the debit card, direct deposited into your checking account or have a check sent to you.
Do I Need Anything Except The Card?
You will need your Banner ID, social security number and driver's license to activate the BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard® and select your refund preference.
What Exactly Is The BankMobile Vibe Account?
The BankMobile Vibe Account is a fully functioning FDIC Insured checking account with no minimum balance and no monthly fees. Selecting the BankMobile Vibe Account allows you to access your refunds quicker and easier than ever before and offers a world of great benefits such as:
- FREE Internet banking features.
- The ability to make purchases anywhere Debit MasterCard® is accepted.
- You may also withdraw cash with no fees at the BankMobile ATM located on campus in the Old Ranch near the Cafeteria.
What Are The Advantages Of Having My Refunds Deposited Directly To My Vibe Account?
- Depositing your refund to the BankMobile VIbe Account and selecting an Easy Refund is the quickest way to gain access to your refund money.
- The BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard® is NOT A CREDIT CARD. However you can use it for purchases at all participating merchants that accept Debit MasterCard, get cash at ATMs, pay bills and more.
- Parents and friends can easily send you money online with a simple email and a linked bank account.
Will I Know When My Refund Has Been Direct Deposited To My BankMobile Vibe Account?
Yes! BankMobile will send an email to the address you entered during activation when your refund has been deposited to your BankMobile Vibe Account. Additionally, you can view the details of your BankMobile Vibe Account by accessing your statement online at RefundSelection.com or by signing up to receive text messages sent directly to your cell phone with Mobile Alerts.
Can I Have My Refund Deposited To Another Bank Account?
Yes! You may have your refund deposited to the bank of your choice. In order to have your refund deposited to your bank, activate your refund preference as soon as you receive the card by visiting RefundSelection.com. During the activation process, select ACH Transfer to other bank for your refund preference and simply complete, print and send the required third party form to the designated address. The form will be available online during the activation process.
Why Is The MasterCard® Brand Mark On My New BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®?
The BankMobile Vibe Mastercard® can be used to make purchases wherever Debit MasterCard® is accepted. It is important to note that the BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard® is NOT A CREDIT CARD, but rather a DEBIT CARD backed by the purchasing power of the MasterCard network.
How Do I Use The BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®?
If you choose to access your refund with the BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®, you can use the card like a debit card. When you make a purchase using the card always select "credit," not "debit," in order to avoid additional fees and keep your transaction secure. Debit purchases made with a PIN are less secure and will result in fees charged to your account.
Do I Have To Use The BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®?
No. You can have your refund deposited into a checking account or you can receive a check in the mail.
What Is The Fastest Way to Receive My Refund?
Choose to have your refunds deposited directly into your BankMobile Vibe Account-a fully functioning FDIC Insured checking account-is the fastest way to receive your refund.

Will I Receive A New Card Each Semester?
No, you will only receive one BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®. You may have received a BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard® even if you did not receive a refund. You will not receive a duplicate card or a card for every semester that you are enrolled.
Can I Change A Refund Preference?
Yes! Go to RefundSelection.com and follow the steps to select another option.
What If I Do Not Activate My BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard®?
If you do nothing and do not use the BankMobile Vibe Account to select a refund method, a refund check will be sent to you within 21 days after refunds are disbursed. All checks will be issued by BankMobile, not McNeese, and they will be sent to your official address in Banner.
I Don't Think I Will Ever Get A Refund. Why Is It Important To Select A Refund Preference?
Although you might not currently expect a refund from McNeese State University, we may have a refund for you in the future. After all, it may be necessary to drop a class, a class may be canceled or you may simply receive a scholarship or assistance you were not anticipating. Selecting your preferred method to receive refunds from McNeese ensures you'll always receive your refunds in a timely manner.
Will I Receive Email From BankMobile?
Yes, you will begin getting email from BankMobile with additional information about your options.
