The Counseling Center is staffed by licensed professional counselors (LPC) and graduate-level or licensure-seeking interns (CI) who provide comprehensive mental health counseling, assessment, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention.
Raime Thibodeaux, M.A., LPC-S, NCCDirector of Counseling and Health Services
Raime earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and her Master's degree in Counseling from LSU in 2005. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Additionally, Raime is an LPC-Supervisor.
James Grimes, M.A., LPCCounselor/Testing Officer
James earned his Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from McNeese State University in 2006. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been working as a full-time employee at McNeese since 2007.
Kim Garner, M.A., CICounselor Intern
Kim earned his Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from McNeese in 2012. He is currently working part-time at the Counseling Center while he pursues his professional license as a counselor.
The Counseling Center employs graduate assistants who are in the process of earning their Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at McNeese State University. Graduate Assistants conduct counseling sessions with clients as a part of the Practicum and Internship requirements of their degree program. They receive individual supervision by Counseling Center staff and participate in all clinical staff meetings.
Terri Sapp provides administrative support services to the counseling center.
