Program Goal

Com-STEM's main goal is to increase the number of students receiving associate and baccalaureate degrees in the STEM disciplines.  To achieve this goal, our program intends to introduce, implement and institutionalize efforts to:

  1. recruit students into STEM disciplines from the pool of high school graduates, non-traditional students, and non-STEM majors,

  2. educate high school teachers, principals, counselors, school superintendents and parents of high school students about the opportunities and benefits of STEM careers,

  3. provide for maximum engagement of students in educational and professional activities related to STEM education,

  4. promote excellence among STEM students, and reward students for demonstrating academic excellence.
