Dr. Nikos Kiritsis is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at McNeese State University. He joined McNeese in August of 1999 as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in August of 2003. Dr. Kiritsis holds a B.S. in Physics and a B.S.E. in Engineering Physics from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining McNeese, Dr. Kiritsis taught as an adjunct instructor at Austin Community College and the University of Texas at Austin and as a lecturer at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. Throughout his career as an educator, Dr. Kiritsis has worked on grant-funded programs totaling more than $2 million. He has extensive experience in academic laboratories, supervising personnel, program development, writing budgets, fundraising activities and collaborating with other professionals. Dr. Kiritsis has been a PI on multiple NSF supported grants and has served on multiple NSF review panels. In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Kiritsis currently serves as the Interim Director of Research Services and Sponsored Programs.
