Ms. Elizabeth Stevenson

Elizabeth Stevenson is the program coordinator for Com-STEM. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from McNeese State University. Before accepting the position of program coordinator, Mrs. Stevenson held three positions on the McNeese campus.

Mrs. Stevenson was Counselor/Selection Specialist for the MSU Louisiana Job Link where she provided family, employment, and educational counseling to dislocated workers. Mrs. Stevenson also administered and interpreted aptitude tests for participants and coordinated all classroom training for computer, medical transcription, and communication classes.

As Academic Coordinator for MSU Student Support Services, Mrs. Stevenson was responsible for recruiting and selecting program participants, coordinating the tutoring and mentoring program that served approximately 100 students annually, and providing academic, financial aid, and personal counseling.

Mrs. Stevenson's most recent MSU position was as Louis Stokes-Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation Program Counselor. She recruited minority students seeking B.S. degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In addition to counseling, Mrs. Stevenson selected and trained tutors/mentors, managed the LAMP tutoring program, reviewed academic progress of all participants, and assisted participants with applications for co-ops, internships, and graduate school.

The three previous MSU positions held by Mrs. Stevenson provided her with an excellent foundation for her role as program coordinator for the Com-STEM program.
