Dr. William Dees is an Assistant Professor of Biological Science at McNeese State University.  He graduated from The Citadel with a B.S. degree in Biology.  He earned a M.S. degree in Entomology from Clemson University and a Ph.D. degree in Ecological Sciences from Old Dominion University.  Before joining McNeese, Dr. Dees served as bio-science instructor and director of the Minnesota Academy of Mathematics & Science, and as a medical entomologist and education and training management specialist in the United States Navy.  In 2001, he joined the faculty of McNeese State University.  His primary teaching responsibilities include general biology courses for science majors and upper-level courses in the health and medical sciences.  Dr. Dees is a registered environmental manager and a medical entomology consultant for Scientific Coordination, Inc.  He is a member of 12 professional organizations, author or coauthor of over 90 publications and international and national presentations, many of which involve undergraduate students, and has served as a consultant on scientific films.  Dr. Dees has worked on grant-funded programs totaling more than $2 million.  He has extensive experience in the biomedical and environmental sciences related to health promotion and disease ecology and prevention including field and laboratory research, personnel supervision and program planning, development and management.
