The OSHA- EPA-PSM Study Group

This group was founded in 1991 by Dr. Edwin Eisen, department head of MSU's Engineering Department, to study the Occupational Safety and Heath Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Process Safety Management (PSM) issues.

Purpose

To provide a forum for industry groups to share information and discuss economic ways to solve mutual problems relating to safety and environmental issues. From time to time the group has invited experts in government and private agencies to interpret regulatory directives set up by OSHA or the EPA with a view to facilitate meeting deadlines and complying with these regulatory directives.

Operations

The group usually meets once each month, September through May. This has been a popular activity of the LAI/MEP in this specialized area.
