The Purpose
The NPHC at McNeese State University serves as the cornerstone for bonding and collaboration amongst groups affiliated. The council also is one of the premier service organizations on campus. At McNeese, each group individually has similar ideals and objectives thus their motto, "One Unified Vision" . National representatives from each of the "divine nine" organizations comprised a set of standards applicable to all NPHC councils and undergraduate chapters represented within:

NPHC Shared Standards

  1. Continue the promotion of academic excellence.
  2. Demonstrate the values of NPHC, affiliate organizations, and host institutions.
  3. Develop leadership skills.
  4. Develop positive supportive relationships.
  5. Develop citizenship through community service and outreach.

Each standard has several sub principles to support the main goal.  For a complete list of the NPHC Shared Stands click here

NPHC Intake

NPHC Joint Position Statement against Hazing
Each NPHC organization typically accepts new members at least once and sometimes twice per academic year. Dates for intake are determined by mandates set forth from each group’s national office. This is why the process is done separately and according each organization’s schedule. In an effort to promote NPHC Greeks as a unified entity prior being recognized as individual groups, the council conducts Men’s/Women’s Caucuses (joint interest meetings) at the beginning of each semester for persons interested in NPHC organizations. Individuals interested and/or wanting to join a NPHC group are expected to attend. Groups conduct interest meetings only after they have fully participated in a caucus. Fall 2009 caucus dates are below.
