During the beginning of every semester students are faced with trying to remember their passwords for Blackboard. If they are enrolled into your class (ie, you added them to your class or they self enrolled) you have the
ability to reset their passwords.
*NOTE: You will need to add them to your course to access student properties if they are not already enrolled in your course!
Step 1. Go to Control Panel of your Blackboard Course.

Step Two: Click on "List/Modify Users"

Step Three: The Search for students feature will appear. Place the last name or user name in the search field and be sure to choose which 'search by' to use. Searching by last name is the default.
If you are unsure, you can just click on the 'Search' button and it will list ALL of your students that are enrolled in your class. (This is also a good way to check if your students have proper email address for future communications). Press OK.

Step Four: Find student in list and choose properties at right.

Step Five: Find password field and enter student password and again to verify. You will not be able to "see" their passwords and will only be able to reset it to one that the student can later go in
and change. Press OK to complete.
