The McNeese Autism Program Super School is a simulation classroom environment used in the development of traditional school environment readiness skills, as well as promote the development of appropriate social behaviors, language skills, and literacy skills for children 4-7 Years of age.
Within the Super School setting, children are taught to follow group instruction, attend to in a group setting, and initiate interaction with peers, while always maintaining one-on-one support by trained McNeese Autism Program staff members. The Super School environment provides significant opportunity to practice appropriate social skills and learn behaviors needed for success in a traditional classroom setting. Pro-social behaviors such as sharing, waiting, and praising peers are promoted.
