Banners presents National Works on Paper

Punt by Mia HaltonThe 26th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition opens with a reception honoring the exhibiting artists at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in the Grand Gallery located in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex at McNeese State University. 

The exhibit, which runs through May 9, is sponsored by the visual arts department and is part of the 2013 McNeese Banners Cultural Series.

Claudia Schmuckli, director of the University of Houston's Blaffer Art Gallery, is the juror for this year's Works on Paper Exhibition. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.

Schmuckli has selected 71 works from a broad national spectrum of paintings, drawings, photographs, prints and mixed media works on paper for this year's exhibition.  She will give a gallery talk at 7 p.m. Thursday.
