The annual Louisiana Culture Awards - presented on April 22 in Baton Rouge - recognize outstanding contributions to Louisiana's culture by organizations and individuals for work in communities, education, archaeology and historic preservation.
"It is a tremendous honor for Banners and McNeese State University to be recognized for our work in the community," said Patricia Prudhomme, director of Banners.
The Banners Cultural Series is presented in the spring and features more than 20 outstanding performances related to the arts and humanities including lectures, performances, exhibits and music. Banners at McNeese is supported by corporate sponsors, memberships, grants and annual fundraisers including the immensely popular Rouge et Blanc food and wine event. The Banners Committee is all volunteers and includes community members and McNeese faculty, staff and students. Visit www.banners.org for more information.
