McNeese State University and PPG Industries have collaborated to offer Southwest Louisiana's first easy-to-access environmental outdoor learning center through PPG's newly redesigned Naturelab, which offers hands-on, technology-rich activities designed to immerse students of all ages in meaningful engaged learning. During the 2011-2012 academic year, Oak Park Middle School took advantage of the Naturelab and scheduled a field trip and held its first Wetlands Camp there. For its participation, the school recently received a new Proscope wireless microscope funded through the Naturelab's mini-grant program. The microscope creates a wireless network with an iPad or laptop and Oak Park Middle students will be able to display an image on their 40 iPads at the same time.
