Class of 1963 to be honored at spring graduation

"This is one of our favorite events that the McNeese Alumni Association sponsors. It's truly amazing to meet our Golden Scholars, visit with them and hear their stories about campus life," said Clark. "They are so fond of the time they spent here on campus and have such love for their university. We enjoy spending the weekend reminiscing and celebrating all that they have accomplished in their 50 years since graduation."
On Friday, the graduates will reunite at the Stream Alumni Center for a brunch and an induction and pinning ceremony. Afterwards, there will be a tour of the new Southwest Louisiana Entrepreneurial and Economic Development Center. Graduates will attend a reception that evening at the McNeese President's Home.
On Saturday, the graduates will wear gold robes and march in spring commencement at 10 a.m. in Burton Coliseum with the Class of 2013.
The Golden Scholars from the class of 1963 are as follows: Anna Babin, Sulphur; Walter Denton, Lake Charles; Vernon Hidalgo, Iowa; Robert Ivey, DeQuincy; James Manning, Lake Charles; Ivy Mouton, Lake Charles; Patricia Ortego, Lake Charles; Franklin Racz, Lafayette; Mary Ann Wallace, Lake Charles; and Sylvia Wilson, Houston, Texas.
