Transfer Students

Effective Fall 2011 - Summer 2012

  • Transferable associate degree or higher from regionally accredited institution
  • OR
    • 12 or more college-level (non-developmental) hours earned AND
    • 2.0 cumulative GPA (excluding developmental) AND
    • No developmental course required AND
    • Eligible to return to last institution attended

NOTE:

Transfer students with a 2.0 cumulative GPA, but less than 12 college-level hours earned, must also meet first-time freshman (FTF) Admission Requirements. Additional information, including Fall 2012 admission requirements, may be found on the Admissions & Recruiting website.

Completion of the Associate of Arts/Science Louisiana Transfer (AALT, ASLT) degree guarantees that the student has met, in full, all lower division general education requirements at the receiving Louisiana public university.

Graduates transferring with the transfer degree will have junior status.

Courses or GPA requirements for specific majors, departments, or schools are not automatically satisfied by an AALT/ASLT degree.


Effective Fall 2012 - Spring 2013

  • Transferrable associate degree (AA, AS, AGS) or higher from regionally accredited institution
  • OR
    • 18 or more college-level academic hours earned AND
    • 2.0 cumulative GPA on college-level academic courses AND
    • Successful completion of a college-level English and a college-level mathematics course designed to fulfill general education requirements AND
    • Eligible to return to last institution attended

Note:

Transfer students with a 2.0 cumulative GPA on college-level academic courses, but less than 18 college-level academic hours earned, must meet first-time freshman admission standards.


Note:

Effective Fall 2012, transfer students needing any developmental courses cannot be admitted even by exception.
