First-Time Freshmen Admissions Requirements
(Effective Summer 2012 – Spring 2013)
Graduates of State-Approved Public and Private Louisiana High Schools
- Completion of Regents' Core (Core 4 Curriculum – 19 units) AND
- Need of no more than one developmental course AND
- Have a minimum high school overall GPA of 2.35 AND
- Meet at least one of the following:
- Minimum high school Core GPA of 2.0 OR
- Minimum ACT composite of 20 (SAT critical reading and math combined scores of 940)
Graduates of State-Approved Home-School Program or Out-of-State State-Approved High Schools
- Group 1:
- Meet same criteria as Graduates of state-approved public and private Louisiana High Schools OR
- Group 2:
- Completion of 17 of the 19 units of the Regents' core ) AND
- Need of no more than one developmental course AND
- Have a minimum high school overall GPA of 2.35 AND
- Minimum high school Core GPA of 2.0 AND
- Minimum ACT composite of 20 (SAT critical reading and math combined scores of 940) OR
- Group 3:
- Need of no more than one developmental course AND
- Have a minimum high school overall GPA of 2.35 AND
- Minimum ACT composite of 23 (SAT critical reading and math combined scores of 1050)
Core requirement for applicants under the age of 25:
- Beginning with 2012 graduating class, 19 units of Core 4 curriculum required (2012 graduates entering in Summer 2012 may be admitted with either 2011 or 2012 core)
- Graduating classes 2005-2011, Regents' core in place at time of graduation required
Adult (25 and Older) First-Time Freshman Admission Standards
- Need of no more than one developmental course AND
- One of the following:
- State-approved high school diploma with minimum overall GPA of 2.0 OR
- General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
